Free from the constraints and entanglements associated with the use of cabled devices, many time-consuming activities can be executed quickly and effectively directly in the field.

STAR-System™ does not require any operating licenses, yet it provides one of the most flexible wireless connections between data and business. Offering scalable solutions for simple applications to large, complex projects, its seamless roaming capabilities allows for contiguous/non-contiguous coverage in large facilities or warehouses that need to overcome physical barriers like concrete walls, firewalls or metal shelving.

STARGATE™, a core component of the STAR-System, is a narrow-band radio base station that allows for the transmission of data between several Datalogic RF devices and a host system (standard PC, Windows based) via a wireless network. A single STARGATE base station covers an area of about 8,000 m² outdoors, manages up to 2,000 mobile devices and supports up to 32 simultaneous active clients in real time. STARGATE™ is equipped with a RS-485 high-speed serial interface. .
                                                                                                                           

STAR-Modem™, industrial radio modem, enables wireless communications between Datalogic narrow band RF devices and a host system. In a basic point-to-point configuration, it transmits, via radio, any terminated string received through its RS-232 port and vice versa.

STAR-Modem offers both RS-232 and Wedge connections, and can make RS-232 wired devices instantly wireless. Bar code printers, industrial scales and industrial scanners can send/receive data to/from the Datalogic STAR-System™ like an RF device. 

Specifically designed for industrial use, STAR-Modem can operate in all environmental conditions including outdoor applications without affecting functionality. STAR-Modem resists vibrations and mechanical stress, allowing for installation into vehicles such as forklifts.
