The DL-VideoSorting SW is the Datalogic Videocoding solution offered as an option for the DV9500 Vision System which provides complete automation in the Transportation and Logistic market. It's composed of a Software package while a complete hardware system can be provided on demand

When it's not possible to sort the parcel because the bar code is not detected (i.e. damaged or missing) or the bar code information is not enough for the sorting activity, the images are collected by the DV9500 Vision System and sent to a computer server.

This elaborates the images and dispatches them to a remote key entry client system. The terminal shows the images to an operator who can manually enter the required information in a data entry form that can be customized. This data will be used online to sort the parcel or offline for other uses (i.e. offline database management or process analysis.

All Videocoding activities are speeded-up thanks to an automatic Region of Interest Finder that extracts the image that most likely contains the block to be analyzed. Then, it presents the image zoomed and rotated. Alternatively, the operator may perform several graphical operations, including selection, zooming, rotation, and image adjustment. In order to make data-entry faster and avoid an operation with incorrect sorting, data entry may be supported by a built-in customer database (i.e. postal code database).
